Meet the Staff

Anthony Alvarez was born and raised in Fresno, CA. He is currently attending Fresno City College completing his General Education to transfer to a university continuing his search for something he loves and will pursue. Anthony participates in the Fresno State Orchestra, the Gay Pride Parade in Fresno for the past two years performing as Lady Gaga and has volunteered since the inception of the Rainbow Delegation. He is obsessed with Lady Gaga, and honestly, he's her biggest fan and he'll follow her until she loves him. He also enjoys Harry Potter, Anime, Makeup, and a variety of video games. He's the coolest nerd you'll know.

Kristin, second from the left, answers to Mom, Other Mother, Babushka, KB or Dr. Beas. Her favorite thing to do is surf in warm clear water on a long left break in the hot sun. Kristin was born in Fresno, CA way back in 1967 and grew up on the beach. As a later-to-life lesbian, Kristin knows the consequences of relinquishing heterosexual privilege and have no regrets about living her life open, out and proud with her loving partner and co-parent. Together Kristin and her partner are raising six fabulous, and at times complicated, young people ranging in age from 12-23, plus pets. She is passionate about her family, work and community. In an attempt to make a significant positive impact in the world and tackle some of the broad systemic problems faced by individuals and organizations Kristin and her partner opened Clarity of Thought Consulting in 2002. Together they have written and coordinated over $10M in advocacy grants and trained diverse groups all over the country. Both are expanding their adventure into self-sustainable, biodynamic farming with a powerful philanthropic twist in 2012. Ask Kristin about it if you want to know more. Seb Harris Frost is a subversive, queer-as-hell, genderfucked performer kid from fabulous, frothy Fresno. After studying Shakespeare, Zie has written, performed and directed a number of theatrical pieces with Wisconsin's own Proud Theater, has published a chapbook and has developed a love for zeugma. Beyond writing and performing, Seb is passionate about activism and social justice. From queer rights to immigrant rights, from the anti-war movement to education reform, Seb stands in defense of self-determination. Now residing in Seattle, Seb is thrilled to be bringing hir vernacular and literary talents back to the Central Valley

Born in Fresno in 1993, David Nixon was raised for most of his life attending Wesley United Methodist Church”one of the first reconciling congregations in all of California. Because of this, from an early age he was surrounded by the LGBTQQIA community, shaping him later to be a persistent straight ally of LGBT rights. Upon attending Central High School, David joined the school GSA and regularly participated in civil activism. By his senior year, he became president of the club, and co-taught a workshop about the legal rights of students at the 2011 Expression Not Suppression convention. He now lives in Seaside and attends CSU Monterey Bay, and although he does not affiliate with any formal groups, he continues to combat LGBT discrimination, as well as environmental, human, and animal abuse, though visual art, spoken word, written pieces, and social action. He hopes to attain a degree in human communication with an emphasis in creative writing and social change, eventually leading him to a career as a cultural and global issue columnist.
